SciComm pre-allocates a portion of its revenue each month for end-of-year bonuses. As a proportion of our rates, the bonuses are not dependent upon corporate profitability.
Each division and the employees within in a division are awarded performance-based bonuses based on division accomplishments.
SciComm typically recognizes employees who have made significant contributions to SciComm. These employees are awarded cash bonuses.
Eligible employees have the option of choosing between two plans offered by United HealthCare. SciComm pays a set amount (call the Human Resources Department for the most current information) towards an employee's and dependent's health insurance coverage. The difference between the total cost of the health insurance minus SciComm's set contribution is the amount an employee is responsible for paying; this amount will be deducted from an employee's paycheck using pre-tax dollars.
SciComm observes 10 paid holidays per year. These 10 holidays are New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, Presidents' Day (third Monday in February), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Life Insurance Plan
Life insurance provides a benefit in the event of death or dismemberment. The amount of coverage for eligible employees is one times an employee's salary to a maximum of $50,000. The insurance coverage is provided at no cost to SciComm employees.
SciComm provides long-term disability insurance that is equivalent to 60% of an eligible employee's salary, not to exceed $3,000/month. To be eligible for monthly disability payment benefits, a qualified employee must be disabled and unable to work for 90 consecutive calendar days. Long-term disability premiums are fully paid for by SciComm.
SciComm provides specific job-related training to its employees as specific client needs arise.
Paid Time Off
SciComm provides 3 weeks of paid time off each year to qualified employees. For the first 3 years, a qualified employee accrues 10 hours per month. After 3 years, the accrual is 13.34 hours per month; after 6 years, the accrual is 15 hours per month; and after 10 years, the accrual is 16.66 hours per month. A maximum of 160 hours of paid-time-off hours may be carried over from one calendar year to the next calendar year.
SciComm provides to eligible employees a 401(k) salary deferral plan.
As an additional benefit, SciComm matches a percentage of the employees deferred income; individual matches may be restricted by various IRS testing requirements. Historically, the matches have been as follows:
* 2004 - $0.35 per $1.00 of employee deferral.
* 2005 - $0.35 per $1.00 of employee deferral.
